On November 10th, 2018, students of the St. Andrew Ukrainian School in S. Bound Brook/Somerset had a special treat: a chance to explore the lives of Ukrainian immigrants to the United States though a make-believe immigrant suitcase and using reproductions of actual items from the UHEC archives.
Students of the St. Andrew Ukrainian School in S. Bound Brook/Somerset visited the UHEC exhibition "Cultural Identity to Statehood: Ukraine 1917-1921", where they learned about how what is now a familiar symbol of the Ukrainian nation came to be "resurrected" in 1917, and how artists and musicians helped shape the newly independent nation.
On November 12, 2016, students from St. Andrew Ukrainian School, Somerset, NJ visited the exhibit "From Social Realism to Church Art" of works by Nicholas Bervinchak. Archivist Dr. Michael Andrec used the Bervinchak's etchings to explore the lives of Ukrainian American immigrants in the early 20th century. This made a personal connection for the students, many of whom are themselves immigrants from Ukraine, or are children of recent immigrants.

On February 16, students of the St. Andrew School of Ukrainian Heritage Studies learned about Ukrainian immigration to the US using items from the Center's collections.
On November 17, the Center hosted the first through third grade students at the St. Andrew School of Ukrainian Heritage Studies in a viewing of prints from the series "Ukraine 1933: A Cookbook".
