Text Excerpt:
Indicative of the peerless artistry of the Old World was the program of songs and dances presented at the Y. W. C. A. building, Passaic Avenue and Prospect Street, last evening under the auspices of the International Institute of the Y. W. C. A., Fourth and Bergen Street. A group of Ukrainian dancers, sponsored by the Ukrainian National Home, under the instruction of Joseph Kashalaba, gave three numbers, Catherina-Kozatchok Podilsky, Polomiyka [sic], and Zaproska [sic] Hertz. These dancers who recently appeared at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, with the Ukrainian Folk Ballet, dance with an ease and grace that is really marvelous, and their instructor, Mr Kashalaba, is to be complimented on their excellent work.
