On October 13, our interim director Natalia Honcharenko traveled to Ramapo College in northern New Jersey to deliver a lecture entitled “Ukraine and Its People” to a class in Cultural Anthropology. Their semester was devoted to studying the living cultures of three countries, one of which was Ukraine.
Natalia presented an overview of Ukrainian geography and history, folk arts and traditions, religion, language and culture. The students also came the United Ukrainian Orthodox Sisterhoods Fall Festival in South Bound Brook to see the stage show, partake in Ukrainian cuisine, and interact with other attendees to understand how they live their culture.
