Petrykivka Paint & Sip (In-Person Folk Arts@UHEC)

Discover how to draw in the traditional Ukrainian decorative painting style known as Petrykivka. While also enjoying some wine, snacks and each other’s company! This workshop is divided into two parts. In the first, we will get comfortable with using the provided painting supplies and practice basic brush strokes. In the second, we’ll use what we learned to complete a Petrykivka painting.

Olenka Shevelenko is a NJ based artist who specializes in the Petrykivka style. She is originally from Kherson, Ukraine and paints both as a hobby and as a way to connect more with her heritage. Her work was recently on display in the Old Bridge Library and in the past she participated in Petrykivka style art competitions.

Time: 6:30 - 9:00 PM 
Class begins at 7 PM
