This web resource contains digitized audio from the collections of the Ukrainian History and Education Center. The audio provided here is from the “emergency digitization” work that is underway in order to migrate endangered reel-to-reel and cassette recordings to digital preservation format.
These recordings are only a fraction of the cassettes and reels that have been digitized, and not all of the magnetic media has been digitized yet. Some recordings have not been published here due to privacy, copyright, technical, or other considerations. But in some cases, we simply haven’t had time to edit and upload it yet. Please check back, as we are continually adding content. Please contact us with any research questions.
In part thanks to a collaboration with Dnipro National University, many of these recordings now also have detailed time-coded annotations. The text of these annotations are included in the keyword search functionality, and the links allow you to immediately jump to a time point of interest in the recording.
