In honor of the High Holy Days, here are some photographs of the synagogue in Yarishiv (Yiddish: Yarishov), in what is now the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine, near the Moldovan border.
These photographs are in the archival collection of ethnographer and museum curator Konstantyn Moshchenko, and are part of the records of an ethnographic expedition to the Vinnytsia region that was undertaken likely in the 1920s.
We don't know if this building survived the Holocaust, but we know that its worshippers unfortunately did not.
